Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has warned Zinedine Zidane to forget about signing Kylian Mbappe for Real Madrid.
Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move to the La Liga giants in recent seasons as they continue to find a suitable successor to Cristiano Ronaldo.
And Los Blancos boss Zinedine admitted that he is a big admirer of the 20-year-old ahead of his side’s meeting with the French champions in the Champions League on Tuesday.
But Tuchel, who saw his team win the first meeting with Real 3-0, insisted that his star striker would be going nowhere.
“Sometimes the players you love the most are the ones you cannot have,” said a smiling Tuchel on Monday.
“But unfortunately for Zidane he is our player, although I’m sure he has a lot of players who he loves in his team.
“I don’t know how much Zidane loves Mbappe but he is our most important player and we are very happy that he belongs to us.”
Despite being hindered by a number of injury problems this season, Mbappe has impressed when he has made it onto the pitch for PSG, scoring nine goals in 12 appearances in all competitions.
The 20-year-old moved to the Parc des Princes from Monaco in 2017 after coming close to agreeing a move to the Bernabeu – where he had a trial earlier in his career.
Real boss Zidane is known to be a big fan of Mbappe, who was one of the stars of France’s success at the 2018 World Cup, and reinforced that his team must keep an eye on him.
“I have known him for a long time as he came here for a trial and I have been in love with him since then, first of all as a person,” Zidane said.
“He comes here tomorrow as our opponent, we know what type of player he is and we must be prepared.”
PSG have already secured a place in the Champions League knockout rounds with a maximum of 12 points from their four games and can secure top spot in Group A with a draw or a win over Real.
