Neymar Suffers Fresh Injury As PSG Star Hobbles Off 13 Minutes Into Brazil’s Friendly Draw With Nigeria

Neymar limped off after just 12 minutes of Brazil's friendly with Nigeria

Neymar was forced off injured after just 13 minutes of Brazil’s 1-1 friendly draw with Nigeria in a major blow for the forward.

The Paris Saint-Germain  star, 27, was replaced by Philippe Coutinho in the early knockings having made only five appearances this season due to a spate of knocks.

Neymar had already missed four games for PSG this term, on the back of being absent for 48 matches in the past two seasons alone.

In a short clip shared on Twitter, Neymar appears to hold his left hamstring very briefly before hobbling off.

As he is replaced by Bayern Munich ace Coutinho, he then clutches the same part of his leg again.

Joe Aribo gave Nigeria the lead before a Casemiro strike levelled the game in Singapore.

But the biggest news was the blow to Neymar, in what could be a brand-new injury concern – with the Brazil ace having suffered ankle and foot injuries in recent months.

The Brazilian did suffer from adductor (thigh) issues in the last three seasons, however.

Neymar has bounced back from his rocky summer in fine form in recent weeks, scoring four goals in just five Ligue 1 games for PSG.

The former Barcelona star publicly stated his desire to go ”home” to the Nou Camp – with PSG fans left fuming.

Neymar recently opened up after he was booed on his return to club duty, comparing the fans to being like a girlfriend.

He said: “I’m very happy to be able to help PSG. It’s better with the fans.

“It’s like with your girlfriend, one moment you’re bad, but with hugs and a lot of love, it’s better.

“I am here to give my life to PSG. They are my team, the goal is to help my club, to continue to score goals.

“(Scoring?) The most important thing is that these goals are decisive, in tight matches, that’s why I’m here.

“It’s obviously a pleasure to link up with Kylian Mbappe again. He came back with his smile and with his football talent.”
