Hector Bellerin says he’s back better than every after returning for Arsenal in an Under-23s match following eight months out injured.
The Gunners defender suffered a serious knee injury against Chelsea in January, but played 62 minutes alongside summer signing Kieran Tierney in a 2-2 draw with Wolves on Friday.
After the match Bellerin sent a short video message to the Arsenal fans.
“Hey everyone, well after eight long months I’m finally in the red and white and finally on the pitch,” said Bellerin. “It has been a tough period but we’re back, we’re back better than ever and i can’t wait to be back at the Emirates.”
Bellerin later posted on Twitter: “255 days and the day has finally come for me to get back out there. Can’t describe how much I’ve missed this!”
Arsenal paid £25million to sign Tierney from Celtic in the summer transfer window as Nacho Monreal left north London for Real Sociedad.
Arsenal Under-23s boss Steve Bould hooked the full-backs – who are working on getting match fit – together on the hour-mark on Friday.
The duo returning will come as a huge boost to boss Unai Emery, who’s Arsenal side has been lacking in defence in recent weeks.
