Thomas Meunier has admitted he is “frustrated” at his lack of game time for PSG amid speculation Arsenal may swoop for the defender.
Belgian right-back Meunier scored in Paris-Saint Germain’s 3-0 Champions League win over Real Madrid on Wednesday, but has been an unused substitute in the last three Ligue 1 games.
Arsenal still need to shore up their defence despite their summer recruitment, and have been linked with a move for Meunier.
The 28-year-old says despite his frustration, PSG coach Thomas Tuchel can still count on him – but with his contract due to expire next summer, he has been tipped for a January exit by Inside Futebol.
And Meunier’s latest comments offer Arsenal plenty of encouragement ahead of any possible move.
My philosophy and mentality have never changed,” the defender told French radio station RMC.
“I have been saying since my first steps here at PSG that I would be devoted to the club until the end of my contract or more.
“He [Tuchel] will be able to count on me.
“Sometimes it is a bit frustrating and the happiness in football is in playing.
“But choices have been made and the coach will take his own decisions.”
