Lionel Messi has returned to full training ahead of their Champions League opener against Borussia Dortmund.
The Argentine has yet to feature this season as he recovers from a calf injury picked up in pre-season.
The Catalan giants have taken every precaution possible in order to get Messi back on the field to face the German side.
Boss Ernesto Valverde refused to risk him in the 5-2 win over Valencia despite the club heading into the clash struggling for form.
The 32-year-old had continued to train away from the first-team last week but Barca have released pictures of him back among the rest of the squad.
It was reported by ESPN that Messi was even involved in a mini game to help him get back to match fitness.
Valverde will now need to decide between now and Tuesday whether to throw Messi in from the start or use him as an impact substitute.
Meanwhile Messi’s future at the Nou Camp has been thrown in doubt as it’s believed he has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for free at the end of any season.
He has been linked with a sensational switch to David Beckham’s franchise Inter Miami CF but insists he will stay at Barca if they continue to pick up silverware.
Messi said: “What I can say is that I want to be at Barcelona as long as I can, spend all my career here because this is my home.
