Former Arsenal star Alex Iwobi has hit the ground running at Everton, but not with his new team-mates.
The Everton players have been laughing at the Nigerian’s heading technique.
Iwobi arrived from boyhood team Arsenal for an initial £28m fee in August, and has scored two goals in three games for the Toffees.
He netted one against Lincoln in the Carabao cup as well as in the 3-2 home win against Wolves.
Both goals have been scored with his head.
In 100 games for Arsenal he only managed to score once in the air.
The 23-year-old wide man told to the official Everton website: “I don’t know what’s been happening, they [Everton teammates] laugh at me when I try to head the ball in training.
“But the practice has been paying off. I was just trying keep it on target [against Wolves]. I didn’t know I could jump that high.”
However Iwobi confirms it’s simply light-hearted banter with his new teammates.
The Nigerian said: “I have been welcomed really warmly and I want to help my team with goals and assists whenever I can.
“I am enjoying myself and hopefully I will make more memories here.
“Our start has been okay and we will try to take that on after the international break. But there is always room for improvement.”
Iwobi is currently on international duty with Nigeria.
Everton’s next Premier League game is away at Bournemouth on the 15th September.
The Toffees have recorded seven points in four games and currently sit sixth in the Premier League table.
