Real Madrid Terminate The Contract Of Lucas Silva After Nine Appearances In Four Years At The Spanish Giants

Real Madrid have released Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva after nine games since 2015

Lucas Silva has had his Real Madrid contract cancelled after making just nine appearances in four years at the club following a £10million move from Cruzeiro in 2015.

The midfielder was loaned to Marseille for the 2015-16 season, but then returned to Cruzeiro for three seasons, playing 82 games.

He is now free to search for a new club, with interest both in Europe and back in Brazil.

‘I have one more year of contract and I want to continue in Europe,’ Silva previously told Esporte Interactivo.

‘I train with a physical trainer twice a day to continue at a good level.’

Silva had been set to move to Sporting Lisbon in 2016 when his medical detected a heart problem that scuppered the move and set his career back as he recovers.
