Rafinha has left Barcelona to join Celta Vigo on a season-long loan – despite starting all three La Liga games so far this season for the Spanish champions.
The Brazilian, 26, has also extended his contract at the Nou Camp until 2021, with the club convinced he still has the potential to succeed.
This will be Rafinha’s second spell at Celta Vigo, having spent the 2013-14 season there also – making 33 appearances and scoring four goals.
Rafinha – the brother of Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago – has made 90 appearances over eight seasons for the club, with 12 goals to his name.
Valencia had been interested in signing the two-cap Brazil international, but failed to complete a move.
Rafinha joins fellow Barcelona team-mate Denis Suarez at Celta, who has made the permanent move after a failed loan spell at Arsenal last season.
