Manchester United have agreed a loan deal with Inter Milan for Alexis Sanchez – but still must pay more than half his wages.
Reds flop Sanchez’s move is NOT believed to include an option to buy.
Sanchez will arrive in Milan on Wednesday to complete a deal that will see him stay in Serie A until June 2020.
Sanchez, 30, earns around £505,000-a-week at Old Trafford and it is claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s club will pay around 60 per cent of that.
Solskjaer is short of strikers up top and has seen Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba both miss up penalties recently.
But he insisted Sanchez could go if the right offer came in – and now it looks like that perfect bid has arrived.
Solskjaer – whose only other forwards are Rashford, Anthony Martial and academy graduate Mason Greenwood – said previously: “Alexis is a quality player. We don’t have loads of options.
“If there is an offer that’s good enough for the club and him maybe he will go.
“But if not then he’s still our player – and he’s a quality player.”
United have already lost striker Romelu Lukaku to Antonio Conte’s Inter side this transfer window.
And the Belgian used his arrival in Italy to blast his old club for making Sanchez and himself scapegoats last season.
