Cristiano Ronaldo had to be escorted off the field by security

Cristiano Ronaldo had to be escorted away by security to avoid being mobbed by fans for the second year running.

Juventus were taking part in their annual friendly against their own youth side in Villar Perosa – a small commune in Turin.

Ronaldo avoided the clash with “fatigue on his left adductor” but was still in attendance to meet the fans.

The game attracts local families from the surrounding area who are given the chance to meet their heroes.

But as is tradition in the clash against the club’s B team, fans stormed the pitch afterwards in a bid to get close and personal to their heroes.

Ronaldo, 34, was seen looking uncomfortable as he was surrounded by the officers while fans were desperate to take selfies.

The senior team ran out 3-1 winners on the day with Paul Dybala signalling his intent for the season ahead with two.

Dybala was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and Tottenham this summer but they failed to match his wage demands.

Juve boss Maurizio Sarri  gave him the nod and following a good reception from the Juve crowd and he repaid their support with two in the first half.
