Chelsea flop Tiemoue Bakayoko has been linked with shock return to Monaco on loan – with the midfielder not in Frank Lampard’s plans.
The Blues signed Bakayoko, 24, in a £40million deal in 2017, but has failed to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
The one-cap France international spent last season on loan at AC Milan.
On his return to England, Lampard claimed he would give all of his players a chance to impress him.
But Bakayoko – along with Danny Drinkwater, who’s been shipped on loan to Burnley – failed to take his shot in pre-season.
Now, Monaco are set to bring back their former ace, who spent three seasons at the club – starring in their 2016-17 Ligue 1-winning season.
All in all, Bakayoko made 92 appearances during his three years at Monaco, scoring five goals.
Galatasaray has made their move for Bakayoko earlier this month, but a deal failed to come to fruition.
With the English transfer window now passed and the clock ticking on the European front, Monaco’s potential bid could be Lampard’s last chance to get rid of the flop midfielder.
Bakayoko had hinted at a dream move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the summer.
But the Ligue 1 champions instead splashing out £29m to bring Everton star Idrissa Gueye to the French capital.
