Cristiano Ronaldo admits he is “worried” the transfer speculation surrounding Neymar’s future could stop the Brazilian shining on the pitch.
The 27-year-old Samba star told his PSG boss Thomas Tuchel he wanted to leave this summer.
Former club Barcelona have been heavily linked with a move for him as have La Liga rivals Real Madrid, Ronaldo’s old employers.
The Portuguese legend’s current side Juventus have also been mooted as a possible destination for the wantaway Neymar.
Yet Ronaldo, 34, thinks the South American will remain at Parc des Princes, although he fears his friend’s form could be affected after a turbulent few months.
Ronaldo told Marca: “I don’t know. He’s a great player and I get along with him very well.
“There is a lot of talk about him, for Madrid, Barca, Juve.
“It is the job of the press, because you have to sell papers, but I think he will stay in Paris and, if not, look for where he is happy and where he can express his football.
“I hope he will avoid injuries, because he has had a lot of them and that must worry him.
“I worry because I like to see the boy playing.
“Regardless of where he plays, [it is important he] takes care of himself and has no injuries.
“That’s what I want for him.”
Barcelona have reportedly offered £94m plus two first-team players in exchange for Neymar this week.
But PSG are still holding firm in their attempt to hang on to the world’s most-expensive player.
