PSG Make Major Announcement To Impact Man Utd Target Adrien Rabiot’s Future

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed the return of Leonardo as sporting director.

The Brazilian has returned to Paris after six years away and replaces Antero Henrique at the Ligue 1 champions.

Leonardo previously held the role for two years until 2013 and admitted he was delighted to return.

“This club has been so important to me in my football career and in my life,” he said.

“I had really emotional moments here both as a player in the late 90s and more recently as sporting director along with our chairman Nasser Al-Khelaïfi on my return to the club in 2011.

“Today, I come back to Paris full of energy to rejoin this club that I deeply respect.”

While Leonardo will have a busy few weeks ahead identifying summer transfer targets, one of his first jobs will be to make a decision on Adrien Rabiot.

The Frenchman, who is out of contract this summer, was frozen out last term and looked set to move away.

He was personally blasted by Henrique and confirmed this week that he has held talks with Juventus, while there is also interest from Manchester United.

But Le10 Sport claim that Leonardo is trying to persuade Rabiot that he still has a future in Paris.

He is believed to have held talks with Rabiot and his mother, as well as boss Thomas Tuchel, over integrating the midfielder back into the first team if he signs a new contract.

Rabiot has suggested he will make a decision on his future while on holiday in the coming weeks.

He told Corriere dello Sport  and Tuttosport: “It’s true, Juventus have looked for me. We are talking to each other.

“Juventus are a great club where every good player would want to go.

“Manchester United? It is the same. I have to decide, I’m on holiday for now “
