Philippe Coutinho admits he has not been good enough this season after being linked with a Barcelona exit.
The former Liverpool star has been well below par during his 18 months at the Nou Camp.
And Coutinho has been tipped for a stunning Premier League return this summer with Manchester United and Chelsea interested.
It’s been said that Coutinho has told Nou Camp chiefs he wants to leave.
The Brazilian has been valued at an eye-watering £80million.
Coutinho has now admitted he needs to work a lot harder to recapture the form which secured him a £130m switch to Spain in 2018.
But the playmaker has not gone as far as to plead for a transfer away from Catalonia.
Coutinho said: “I didn’t have a great season. It was below what I expect from myself and what the supporters expect from me.
“But you can only gain confidence through working hard, which is what I have done and what I will continue to do.”
Coutinho is also sure to be hurting after seeing former side Liverpool win the Champions League.
He famously left Anfield because he doubted Jurgen Klopp’s European credentials, expecting Barcelona to be challenging for the title instead.
