Man City ‘Reject £70.7m Opening Offer From Bayern Munich For Leroy Sane’

Manchester City have reportedly rejected an offer from Bayern Munich for Leroy Sane

Bayern Munich have reportedly had a £70.7million opening bid for Leroy Sane knocked back by Manchester City.

The 23-year-old could be on his way out of the Etihad in the summer after failing to cement a regular starting spot under Pep Guardiola this season.

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently declared the Bundesliga side are looking to snare the winger back to Germany as the Bavarian outfit look to replace Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

He said: “We will try. I can not promise whether it will succeed.

“We already had the idea when he was still with Schalke, but at that time we did not have a guaranteed regular place for him. Robben and Ribery were top of the top three years ago.”

And according to the Guardian,  Bayern have launched an offer for the 2018 PFA Young Player of the Year, which City have swiftly rejected.

They state that the club are considering making a second bid in what is expected to be a busy transfer window for the Bundesliga champions.

While they also claim that even though City want to keep hold of the player, they feel as though they will be able to cope should they part ways with Sane.

Guardiola already has Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez at his disposal, while the Citizens are also looking to nab Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon.
