Kylian Mbappe has thrown his PSG future into doubt by saying his future could lie “somewhere else” and that he is at a “turning point” in his career.
The French World Cup winner, 20, was speaking as he picked up the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award.
Mbappe said: “It’s very important moment for me, I come to a turning point in my career.
“I have discovered a lot here, and I feel it is perhaps the moment to have more responsibility.
“I hope that can maybe be at Paris Saint-Germain, that would be a great pleasure, or perhaps elsewhere with a new project.”
The Ligue 1 winners are understood to be in talks with Mbappe over a new deal.
Real Madrid are willing to make a world-record £240million move for the striker but PSG have absolutely no intention of selling.
It’s believed Real are testing the water after claims that Thomas Tuchel was ready to drop Mbappe for a “lack of personality.”
However, the youngster scored a hat-trick against former club Monaco to seal the ligue 1 title for PSG last month.
And his dad has branded links with Real ”embarrassing”, saying: “Before I read and watched everything, but not any more.
“It’s like a chocolate cake, if you eat too much, then you get an upset stomach. Sometimes, there’s misinformation too.
“OK, Kylian is a public person, but I do not understand that there are everyday things about him. It’s embarrassing.
“I am no longer able to do things that were done every day. Sometimes we need peace. Today, everybody knows his name.
“I feel like I’m the same as before. Everyone here is like that, my children, my wife.
“We know where we come from. We stay the same. We almost kept the same friends.”
