Zinedine Zidane is considering flogging Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric following an alarming dip in form, according to reports.
The Frenchman is plotting a major summer overhaul after his side have massively underachieved this season.
Less than six months after being crowned the world’s best player, the Croatian finds himself fighting for his future at the Bernabeu.
Modric, who turns 34 later this year, only has 12 months left on his current contract.
His future is also further thrown up in the air following Zidane’s pursuit of Tottenham ace Christian Eriksen.
The Dane, who plays in the same position as Modric, is at the top of Zidane’s transfer shortlist.
Eriksen also has 12 months left on his current contract and is refusing to sign on the dotted line as a dream move to the Bernabeu looms.
It could encourage Inter Milan to rekindle their interest in Modric.
The Italian side heavily pursued him last summer but Real were not keen on selling after already losing Cristiano Ronaldo.
Real Madrid will need to cash in now or risk losing him for nothing in 12 months.
