Arsenal have turned their attention to Jean-Philippe Gbamin as an alternative to Samuel Umtiti, according to reports from Germany.
The centre-back would set the Gunners back around £30million, but is being courted by several European clubs ahead of the summer transfer window opening.
Nacho Monreal and Shkodran Mustafi are two players who could leave – should Arsenal find buyers for the duo – but both would need replacing.
A left-back is high up on Unai Emery’s wishlist, as is a wide player and a box-to-box midfielder to replace the outgoing Aaron Ramsey.
And Gbamin could be the perfect player to fill the void at centre-back.
Arsenal turned their attention to the 23-year-old after it became clear that Umtiti would be difficult to prise away from Barcelona.
The defender is out of favour at the Nou Camp at the moment, but he is confident he can win back his place in the first team.
