Barcelona To Decide On Philippe Coutinho’s Future ‘In A Meeting After Champions League Match Against Manchester United’

Philippe Coutinho's Barcelona future will be decided at a meeting after Man United clash

Philippe Countinho’s future at Barcelona will be decided in an upcoming meeting.

The former Liverpool man has had a difficult first full season since his £145million move to the Spanish giants in January 2018 and was whistled by home fans during a win against Rayo Vallecano.

Manchester United have been reported to be interested in rescuing Coutinho from his Nou Camp nightmare.

The Spanish outlet Sport has led with the story on Friday morning's front page

And now outlet Sport are reporting that his future will be settled after Barcelona’s clash with the English side.

The club’s hierarchy will hold a meeting after the Champions League encounter with United to analyse what route to take with the midfielder.

Coutinho has struggled to get into the first team in recent weeks due to the reemergence of Ousmane Dembele.

Manager Ernesto Valverde has also preferred to play a 4-4-2 system, and Coutinho does not fit into midfield when that is played.

Valverde is, however, expected to give the Brazilian minutes as the games pile up over the coming weeks and Coutinho is keen to succeed at Barcelona.

There are teams interested in him but the report also says that Barcelona have not officially put him on the market yet.

The dressing room would also not be keen to see him leave — yet Barcelona are not willing to allow a luxury like Coutinho sit on the bench eternally.

  1. An interesting read this, as rumours are always around about Coutinho. Barcelona, are lucky to have this man in their squd and it is unlikely he will be leaving any time soon
