Hazard Plays Down Real Madrid Transfer Interest And Insists ‘Nobody Is Waiting For Me’ As He Stays Focused On Chelsea

Eden Hazard insists he is fully focused on Europa League glory and a top-four finish despite interest from Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants have set their sights on the Chelsea star and the return of Hazard’s idol Zinedine Zidane to the Bernabeu hot-seat could be pivotal as he ponders his future.

The 27-year-old has never hidden the fact wants to play for Los Blancos  at some point in his career.

And despite going into the final year of his contract next season, Hazard says he is not looking beyond the current campaign with the Blues still in the mix for trophies.

He told VTM News in Belgium: “At the moment there’s nobody waiting for me.

“We still have two important months with Chelsea. We can win the Europa League.

“We have to win the Europa League or we have to finish in the top four to play in the Champions League.

“The supporters expect that, the staff expect that and the players expect that as well.”

The attacker has been at Stamford Bridge since his £32million move from Lille in 2012.

And he refused to be drawn on the possibility of linking up with Zidane in the Spanish capital this summer.

He added: “I am only thinking about that (the last two months with Chelsea), not about what might happen in two, three, four months. I don’t know. We will see.”

Hazard is currently away with the Belgium national team as they prepare for the first of their Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Roberto Martinez’s men face Russia at home on Thursday before taking on Cyprus away on Sunday evening.
