Man Utd Drop Big Hint Over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Future

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dropped the biggest hint he is about to be confirmed as Manchester United’s  permanent new boss.

Caretaker boss Solskjaer revealed he has filmed an official video for the club, calling on United fans to renew their season tickets.

The video is set to go out in the coming weeks and Solskjaer admitted it would be strange, having starred in it, if he was not in charge next season.

“I’ve done a photo shoot or a video shoot on season tickets so I’m pleading for them to get their season tickets,” said Solskjaer.

“If it’s me as a supporter or manager, I don’t know, but they should still buy their season tickets because the club is going somewhere.”

Asked if it was strange to be asked to do the promotional work for next season, Solskjser said: “It would be stranger to see yourself in the video if you’re not here.

“But, no, its not strange doing it. If my kids see a commercial with me in it and I’m back home in Norway that’ll be strange probably.

“That’s just part of being here, the commercial, part of being a player here as well.

“Suddenly you’re not here anymore and you see your picture. That’s how it is.”

United are ready to ditch plans to talk to other potential managers, and Solskjaer says he has held talks with Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward over new signings and outgoings this summer.

“We’ve been discussing the future of the club,” said Solskjaer. “We did that before I’d won two or three games and all this talk about if I should stay or not.

“My contract is up in the summer but I still, as I’ve always done for United, give my 100 per cent and my best. You have to plan.

“Everyone knows I’d like to stay, of course, but that’s not decided until the end of the season.”

Solskajer is unbeaten in 11 Premier League games since taking over from Jose Mourinho in December and has hauled United into the race for a top-four place.

United, who host Southampton on Saturday, were in sixth place, 11 points off the top four when Solskjaer came in, but are now up to fifth, a point behind fourth-placed Arsenal.
