Juventus are sweating on the fitness of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The forward suffered an ankle knock in Sunday’s 1-0 win at Bologna.
And the Serie A champions have sent the 33-year-old for a scan on his ankle as he was unable to train with the rest of the squad.
A Juve statement read: “Both Douglas Costa and Cristiano Ronaldo trained separately from the group.
“For CR7, check-ups have been scheduled for today and tomorrow following a knock to his left ankle during the game against Bologna.”
Ronaldo’s injury is a real headache for Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri as his side enter a crucial period of their season.
They have a huge 13-point lead in Serie A and go to second-place Napoli on Sunday.
But Ronaldo did not move to Turin to help Allegri’s side win another domestic title, his mission was to help them win the Champions League.
Juve are 2-0 down from the first leg of their last-16 tie with Atletico Madrid with the second leg at home in two weeks time.
Ronaldo has fully justified his £88million price-tag following his switch from Real Madrid last summer.
The Portuguese star has been excellent, scoring 21 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions, with 19 of those strikes coming in Serie A.Play VideoCristiano Ronaldo reminds Atletico Madrid fans how many times he’s won Champions League on return to Madrid
