Neymar On Verge Of Tears As He Talks About ‘Very Special’ Lionel Messi Friendship At Barcelona

Neymar was left on the verge of tears during an interview where he talked about his “very special” friendship with Lionel Messi at Barcelona.

The Brazil star left the Nou Camp in a world-record £198million move in 2017 and Messi recently revealed he would love his former teammate to return to Spain.

Neymar enjoyed a stunning rapport with the Argentine superstar in the four years they played together at Barcelona after he joined from home club Santos in 2013.

After a trophyless first season, the pair won the Treble in 2014-15, forming one of the game’s great strikeforces alongside former Liverpool star, Luis Suarez.

In an interview with Esporte Espetacular, Neymar almost broke down as he revealed the support he was always given by Messi during his time in Spain.

He said: “I tell this story to everyone, that at the time I most needed support, the man on the team, the best in the world, came and gave me love.”

Speculation has persisted that Neymar could make a stunning return to La Liga and the winger got emotional when discussing Messi’s pleas for him to come back.

He added: “It’s difficult, it’s difficult, being sincere is very difficult because Leo was a very special guy for me at Barcelona.”

Neymar also said that when he first arrived at the club Messi told him “I’m here to help you” and advised him not to fear any of his team-mates or be shy.

Despite the ongoing transfer rumours surrounding Neymar, Pari Saint-Germain recently ruled out selling both their Brazil star and Kylian Mbappe.

he future of the two superstars at PSG had been called into question after it was suggested that the Ligue 1 giants were likely to be investigated by Uefa.

Speaking to French daily  Le Parisien, the club’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said: “They (Neymar and Mbappe) will stay in Paris.

Many media, especially in France, claim that one would need to sell Neymar or Kylian. I want to confirm that they will stay here.”
