Leicester have announced the loan signing of Belgium midfielder Youri Tielemans from Monaco.
The deal will see Adrien Silva, the Portugal midfielder, going in the opposite direction, also on loan until the end of the season.
Tielemans was left out of Monaco’s squad on Tuesday night while Silva was due in the Principality on Tuesday.
Tielemans arrives after an impressive 18 months with Monaco since joining from Anderlecht.
He has so far made 65 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals for the Ligue 1 giants.
Tielemans also represented his country at the 2018 World Cup in Russia as Belgium finished third after beating England in the third-place play-off.
Tielemans transfer has been negotiated by a new agency called Let’s Play. Operations are led by Peter Smeets, who was Romelu Lukaku’s personal mentor during his youth at Anderlecht and his first years in England.
Speaking to LCFC TV, Tielemans said:’I’m really excited to get going. The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world and when I was young, I always watched Premier League games.
‘I’m really happy to be here and I’m excited to get started.
‘It’s a big family. Everybody is really kind and really good with me. I think it will be really good here.’
