West Ham are reportedly set to make a loan bid for Chelsea misfit Michy Batshuayi.
Batshuayi is still technically on loan at Valencia but has been frozen out of the first-team picture in recent months.
There is still enough time for his loan to be terminated should a new club come forward.
And it’s understood West Ham are close to offering Batshuayi an escape route after suffering a number of injuries in attack.
Andriy Yarmolenko is a long-term casualty, while Lucas Perez and Andy Carroll have both proven to be unreliable with their fitness.
There are now fears that Marko Arnautovic could miss the rest of the season after suffering a foot injury in last night’s 3-0 defeat at Wolves.
And Batshuayi could be the man to help turn things around for Pellegrini, with the Molineux loss his third in a row.
Chelsea are fully stocked up front after loaning Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus.
But they may be keen to include a cause which sees the Hammers commit to a permanent deal for Batshuayi at the end of the campaign.
