Valencia Set To Cancel Michy Batshuayi Loan Deal

Chelsea could reportedly be boosted by the return of Michy Batshuayi in January.

Goal claims the striker’s Valencia loan spell could be cut short after failing to impress in Spain.

Batshuayi joined the La Liga outfit in a bid to help them improve on last season’s top-four finish.

But the Belgium international has scored just once in the league and three times in all competitions so far.

Valencia are out of the Champions League while finding themselves 15th in the league table.

And Batshuayi’s deal could be terminated as boss Marcelino looks to bring in fresh faces.

The Brazilian said: “At the right time we will analyse the final situation and we will decide [what to do with Batshuayi].

“There is a transfer [clause], I do not know what the situation is contractually.

“But for all parties who want to leave, we will look for what is best for Valencia and thus the appropriate decisions will be made.”

Should he return to Stamford Bridge, Batshuayi is sure to be welcomed back with open arms by Chelsea fans who haven’t forgotten his contribution to the 2017 Premier League title win in Antonio Conte’s first season.

Despite netting the goal that sealed England’s top domestic trophy, Batshuayi found himself shipped out to Borussia Dortmund six months later.

But despite scoring nine times in just 14 games, the former Marseille man still couldn’t convince Maurizio Sarri to find a place for him over the summer.

However, the Italian may find Batshuayi’s return to be ideally timed following reports linking Alvaro Morata to Barcelona.

The striker is said to be unhappy at Chelsea and is apparently looking for a way out.

Morata also picked up an injury during last night’s 2-2 draw with Vidi in the Europa League.

And having Batshuayi back in the squad could halt Chelsea from taking a gamble and splashing the cash on a new arrival.

Talking up a Nou Camp switch for Morata, Barca star Jordi Alba said: “Morata is a player that I appreciate a lot. He has been a top player for many years.

“If the rumours are true, he would be very welcome, as all the new players [are].”
