Paul Pogba was left fuming after Jose Mourinho hauled him off for Alexis Sanchez in the 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.
The Manchester United midfielder, 25, was visibly angry at being substituted during yet another drab showing at Old Trafford.
Pogba was taken off with a little over 20 minutes to go at Old Trafford as Mourinho chased an unlikely winner.
United had looked devoid of ideas straight from kick-off, with fans even claiming they desperately wanted Wilfried Zaha back.
Mourinho’s side took 12 shots during the game but hit the target just five times as they struggled to get to grips with the game.
“We must play with brains and also with heart, and [there was] not enough heart [today].
“There was not enough intensity, not enough desire so I think we played the game like one more game.
“I don’t think [this was] one more game, it’s a game we really need to win.
The Portuguese boss has been aiming to see his side in a Champions League position by the time Big Ben’s bell chime on December 31.
However that task now looks almost impossible – and the frustration plastered on Pogba’s face when he was subbed off said it all.
