Manchester United rocked up at the Lowry Hotel on Saturday evening ahead of their crunch clash with neighbours City.
United take on City at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon and they go into the clash with plenty of confidence following their brilliant 2-1 victory away at Juventus in midweek.
And on Saturday, Romelu Lukaku, David de Gea, Marcus Rashford and Co were pictured making their way inside the five-star hotel as they put the final touches to their preparations.
United supporters will be hoping Lukaku is fully fit for Sunday’s eagerly anticipated derby after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury.
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba is an injury scare for Mourinho after the Frenchman worked on his own indoors at Carrington on Friday after sustaining what was described as a ‘little injury’.
Pogba is set to undergo a late fitness test ahead of Sunday’s fixture, along with Belgium striker Lukaku.
United will be hoping for a repeat of last season’s remarkable performance at the Etihad, which saw the visitors destroy City’s dreams of winning the Premier League titles against their rivals.
And Jesse Lingard has challenged his team-mates to continue their strong away at City – United have won seven of their last 15 away derbies and have not lost on the east side of Manchester since November 2014.
‘The win last season there was a mad feeling and, hopefully, we can do it again,’ Lingard told MUTV.
‘We’ve done well there and it’s just about fine margins sometimes. We kept our mental state last season and got the win in the end.
‘The way the fans were supporting us, even at 2-0 down, they stayed with us and backed us throughout the game and that spurred us on.’
