The French midfielder worked indoors at the Red Devils’ Carrington training base with Jose Mourinho facing a fitness headache ahead of Sunday.
The rest of the United squad trained outside ahead of the Etihad clash, with another session planned for Saturday afternoon.
According to The Times, the 25-year-old is suffering from a ‘little injury’ picked up in the shock 2-1 win away at Juventus in the Champions League.
Pogba made a massive two-goal contribution to United’s 3-2 comeback win over City last April, but his performances have been put under the microscope this season.
He has scored three times for the Red Devils this season, after starring for France in their World Cup win in Russia over the summer.
Pogba applauded the home fans as he left the Allianz Stadium, where he played for four seasons at Juventus and won the Scudetto three times.
Whereas boss Mourinho clearly revelled in the victory, cupping his hand against his ear to mock supporters for jeering him during the match.
Pogba missed United’s flight home from Turin as he was kept behind for a drugs test.
