Arsenal Tell Aaron Ramsey He Can Leave In The Summer After Being Told He Wouldn’t Be Offered A New Contract

Arsenal tell Aaron Ramsey that he can leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season

Aaron Ramsey will leave Arsenal on a free transfer at the end of the season after the club told him face-to-face that they will not be renewing his contract.

Ramsey had complained in an interview with newspaper journalists last week that he had not been personally informed of Arsenal’s decision to withdraw an offer to improve his contract, which is set to expire at the end of the season.

Club executives have since explained to Ramsey that the decision was taken in the long-term interests of the club’s financial health.

Arsenal do not believe there is a market to cash in on the player in January while Ramsey himself is thought to prefer a free transfer, which would then allow him to bank a substantial signing-on fee.

Juventus, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring his situation.

Ramsey signed for the Gunners in 2008 from Cardiff and has gone on to make over 343 appearances for the north London outfit.

The Welshman has made 12 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
