Chelsea will be hoping to beat Liverpool for the second time in a week as they prepare to face-off again on Saturday evening.
Virgil Van Dijk has a slight muscle problem and may miss the clash on Saturday night – he faces a race against time to be fit.
Belgian star Eden Hazard scored a stunning solo goal to knock them out of the Carabao Cup in midweek and ruin Liverpool’s 100% winning start this season.
Table-toppers Liverpool will be hoping to continue their 100% league form and remain top of the table with a victory at Stamford Bridge.
Ahead of their second clash with Liverpool in four days, Maurizio Sarri said:
“Both teams play to win so it may be an open match.
“Liverpool are a top-level team who have worked with the same coach for four seasons, so tomorrow’s game will be difficult.”
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, ahead of Saturday’s match vs Chelsea, said: “We want to strike back, that is sport. If you play them again, you try to correct that case. Fighting back is a duty in sport.”
On the fitness of Van Dijk, Klopp said: “If Virgil is fit and can play, then he will play.
“If not, then obviously we have options and that’s really good. For that, yes, his impact is always obvious.
“But we could play football before Virgil van Dijk and we can play football without Virgil van Dijk, thank God.”
