Leroy Sane Leaves Germany Squad Due To ‘Private Reasons’ Following Discussions With Low

Leroy Sane, seen in action against France this week, has been released from the German squad

Leroy Sane has left the Germany camp to be with his girlfriend who is due to give birth to their first child.

Coach Joachim Low gave the Manchester City winger permission to leave the base in Munich for ‘personal reasons’. He will miss Sunday’s friendly against Peru.

Sane, 22, came on for the final seven minutes of Germany’s goalless draw with France before flying off to be by Candice Brook’s side.

Brook, an American model who is nine years Sane’s senior, is understood to be moving into his city centre apartment in Manchester.

Sane’s form has been scrutinised this season, although City manager Pep Guardiola, who dropped him from the squad against Newcastle last week, says he does not have an attitude problem.

He will now miss Sunday’s friendly against Peru.

A statement published on Twitter confirmed: ‘Following discussions with head coach Joachim Low, @LeroySane19 has left the team hotel in Munich for private reasons and will not be available for #GERPER.’

Sane has yet to start a Premier League match for City this season and was left out of Pep Guardiola’s squad for this month’s 2-1 win over Newcastle after failing to impress his manager in training.

City’s next game is at home to Fulham on September 15.

Sane’s departure from the Germany group comes less than a week after team-mate Toni Kroos urged him to improve his body language.

Real Madrid midfielder Kroos said: ‘Sometimes you have the feeling with Leroy’s body language that it is all the same whether we win or lose.

‘He has to improve his body language. He’s a player who has everything you need to be world-class player but sometimes you have to tell him he has to perform better.’
