New Super Eagles invitee Semi Ajayi is happy with his maiden call-up to the team for next month’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Seychelles in Victoria.
The 24-year who plays for English Championship club, Rotherham United is one of the new boys invited by Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr who unveiled his 24-man squad for the crucial clash on Friday in Lagos.
The other two are Jamilu Collins who plays for German second division side, SC Paderbon and FC Porto midfielder, Kelechi Iheanacho.
Ajayi took to his Twitter handle to express his delight: “Always dreamt of representing my country at senior level. Honoured to receive my first call up for the Super Eagles today. Thank you God #SuperEagles #NationalTeam #GIG.”
Semi has been capped at the U-20 level by England.
He had stint with Arsenal between 2013 to 2015 before joining Cardiff City.
