Arsenal secured their first Premier League victory under new head coach Unai Emery thanks in part to an own-goal from West Ham United debutant Issa Diop.
Arsenal came from behind to beat West Hame 3-1 at Emirate on Saturday.
Goals from Nacho Monreal, Danny Welbeck and own goal from Issa Diop handed Arsenal first 3 points.
Marko Arnautovic scored the opening goal for West Ham in the 25th minute to put the Hammers ahead but couldn’t hold on to their lead for long.
Arsenal responded as Nacho Monreal quickly equalised for the hosts after 6 minutes. The ball came across the box from Hector Bellerin, with the ball being knocked into the path of Monreal who smacks it first time past Fabianski.
West Ham were not really aggressive enough in their press to exploit Arsenal’s vulnerability.
Own goal by Issa Diop handed Arsenal the lead. Lacazette took the ball down in the box and fired it across goal and Diop is the unlucky man, as he knocks the ball into the back of his own net.
Welbeck then managed to strike it past Fabianski, giving Arsenal a more comfortable win than anyone would have expected when Arnautovic put them a goal behind.
