Arsenal star Alex Iwobi is set for another debut… this time as a starring role in a Nollywood movie.
The striker may be on the fringes of the first-team but the spotlight will be on him when Nigerian movie Inpadisu is released.
Iwobi is pictured as the main character on the film poster as he holds a samurai sword while dressed in all black.
An official trailer for the film was released on Thursday which shows the 22-year-old being hunted by mysterious characters after “a simple choice changed everything.”
Iwobi is seen taking a selfie with a fan before he is involved in a chase with villains.
The film was reportedly shot during the striker’s time off over the summer and filming was concluded weeks before the start of the new campaign.
It is unclear when the film is set for release but the trailer ends with “coming soon.”
He is not the first footballer to venture into the film industry and follows in the footsteps of Brazil superstar Neymar.
The Paris Saint-Germain man made a quick appearance in Vin Diesel’s all-action XXX franchise, “Return of Xander Cage.”
He was a key part in the film’s plot, seemingly being killed off in the opening scenes after Samuel L Jackson – playing ‘Augustus Gibbons’ – attempts to recruit him for the XXX programme, before they are killed by a falling satellite.
