Real Madrid’s superstars are irritated at the preferential treatment club captain Sergio Ramos has received this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Ramos, 32, joined up with the squad on August 1, eight days after some international teammates, having been given an extended holiday.
According to Marca, it is the second year running the Madrid defender has had permission to return to training later than his colleagues – and they’re not happy.
Fellow Spain teammates Isco, Marco Asensio, Lucas Vazquez and Nacho returned from their holidays on July 25 and 26.
Dani Carvajal was back by July 29.
But Ramos, who has been holidaying with fiancee Pilar Rubio, was not back until the day after the pre-season friendly against Manchester United.
He will have returned to some changes at the club.
Cristiano Ronaldo has now gone, having completed his £99million switch to Italian giants Juventus.
And also the man in the dugout is different.
Former Spain boss Julen Lopetegui replaced Zinedine Zidane after the Frenchman resigned prior to the World Cup.
Madrid face Ronaldo’s Juventus in a pre-season friendly today.
Their first competitive match is against Atletico Madrid on August 15 in the Uefa Super Cup final before the La Liga season begins.
