Arsenal have tied down the future of Nigeria international Alex Iwobi, after the midfielder signed a new four-year contract at the Emirates.
New manager Unai Emery is planning for the future, and sees the 22-year-old featuring in his long-term plans.
The Gunners announced the news of Iwobi’s contract renewal on Friday, along with a video of the elated youngster speaking of his love for Arsenal.
‘It’s always been my childhood dream to represent Arsenal, from young,’ said Iwobi.
‘To get an extended contract is an amazing feeling and I hope I’m doing the Arsenal family proud, as well as my family.’
Iwobi is set to feature as Arsenal get their 2017-18 Premier League campaign under way against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Sunday, August 12.
Emery has a difficult early run of games with his new side, with London rivals Chelsea their second opponents six days later.
