Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi has reportedly suffered a re-occurrence of his wrist injury with his club Tianjin Teda.
Mikel did not feature for Tianjin Teda in their Chinese Super League club clash against Shanghai Shenhua.
He, however, played in the game against Chongqing Lifan which ended in another defeat.
Mikel was however not able to join his teammates as they picked up their first win in three games against Dalian Yifang on Saturday, July 28.
Mikel missed the last encounter due to fears that the wrist injury is continuing to be a problem to his game.
The Injury sustained by Mikel was while he was on national duty with the Super Eagles at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
In the second group game fixture against Iceland, Mikel picked up the wrist injury as the Super Eagles picked up their only win of the World Cup but still played with it in the last group game against Argentina.
There is no official statement yet by Tianjin Teda about the extent of the injury as suggestions are that Mikel missed the game just due to precautionary measures.
