Wilfried Zaha fuelled rumours he could quit Crystal Palace with a cryptically-worded Instagram post.
But the winger, 25, quickly deleted the message and told his followers that it had no relation to football.
The first post stated: “Today is the day I make a change with everything.”
However, it was swiftly deleted from Zaha’s Instagram story soon after being posted.
And then he uploaded another message, which read: “Let’s get this crystal clear nothing I put on snap is to do with football and if I do put something up about football I make sure everyone knows it’s football i’m talking about.”
Zaha also put up an image of himself perched on the bonnet of his modified Rolls Royce, accompanied with the caption: “Nothing worth having ever comes easy.”
And Zaha’s social media activity had Palace fans very worried.
Eagleseye Footy revealed last week that clubs could face paying £70million for the Ivory Coast man.
Everton and Borussia Dortmund are said to be at the front of the queue to sign the player.
But Zaha’s dreams of a move away were thought to be at risk due to the high asking price, which seems to have already put Tottenham off.
Spurs were initially in for him but will now focus all their energy on Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, who could be available for half the price of Zaha.
