Club-record signing Riyad Mahrez trained with his new Manchester City team-mates for the first time on Friday.
Mahrez was finally unveiled as a City player on Thursday after protracted negotiations with Leicester City.
He joined his new team-mates for pre-season training at the Manchester City Football Academy on Friday afternoon.
Manager Pep Guardiola was working with a small squad as 17 first team players are yet to return because of the World Cup.
The first team players back training were Jason Denayer, Mahrez, Phil Foden, Patrick Roberts, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Lukas Nmecha, Joe Hart, Eliaquim Mangala and Claudio Bravo.
Following his £60million switch the PFA Player of the Year in 2016 said City are ready to lift the Champions League and insisted he is relishing the fight for a starting berth under Guardiola.
‘They have everything to try and win it,’ he added. ‘It’s a goal. Now we have to work and see what can happen.
‘I know they have an ambition to go further. It’s a Champions League team, who want to win trophies every season. I want to be part of this.
‘It’s a club that wants to win this type of trophy, the Champions League is for big clubs and City is a big club.’
City kick-off their Premier League title defence away to Arsenal on Sunday, August 12.
