France’s star-studded squad looked completely at ease on Friday as they trained ahead of their final World Cup warm-up friendly.
Close friends Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba were spotted sharing a joke as France geared up for Saturday’s clash against USA with a training session in Lyon.
Key players Kylian Mbappe, Hugo Lloris and Benjamin Mendy were all present as Les Bleus began putting the finishing touches to their World Cup preparations.
Manager Didier Deschamps kept a close eye on the session amid speculation linking Zinedine Zidane with his job.
France icon Zidane shocked football by announcing his departure from Real Madrid last week despite winning three Champions League titles in three seasons.
The World Cup winner has been strongly linked with a return to management with his national team and current incumbent Deschamps admitted he feels Zidane will coach France in the future.
‘I don’t know what he (Zidane) has decided,’ Deschamps said. ‘For now, I think he wants to enjoy his rest, his family and loved ones.
He will be coach at some point. When? I cannot say, but that seems logical to me. It will happen when it happens.’
President of the French Football Federation Noel Le Graet has insisted that Zidane will not be taking over from Deschamps any time soon.
‘Didier Deschamps has a contract until 2020… he will stay until 2020,’ Le Graet told French BFM TV channel.
rance will face USA on Saturday at the Groupama Stadium, home of Ligue 1 giants Lyon, in their final outing before departing for Russia.
Mendy, Griezmann and Pogba posted a video of themselves joking around on the flight to Lyon earlier on Friday as the squad appeared in high spirits.
France have been handed a favourable draw in Russia. They will face off against Australia, Denmark and Peru in Group C.
