Injury restricted his season to just 17 appearances and saw him dropped from Brazil’s World Cup squad.
But David Luiz looks determined to enjoy his summer holiday before the hard work starts in pre-season.
The Chelsea centre-back shared a picture of himself posing in front of the Burj Khalifa skyscraper in Dubai on his Instagram page.
The Brazilian last played for Chelsea on February 5, a 4-1 defeat at Watford, and has been beset by knee and ankle issues this year.
He started only four games from the start of November, with his Stamford Bridge future unclear, along with manager Antonio Conte.
The Italian brought Luiz back to the Premier League in August 2016, and he played an instrumental role in clinching the title last year.
But a difficult second season saw Luiz struggle for game time as Chelsea dropped out of the Champions League places, finishing in fifth.
Conte’s side did, though, lift the FA Cup earlier this month thanks to an Eden Hazard penalty against Manchester United.
