Romelu Lukaku provided Manchester United fans with a positive injury update on Saturday just moments before his 25th birthday.

The United striker, currently out with an ankle injury sustained against Arsenal last month, took to Instagram to post a video of himself working out.

In the social media post, Lukaku can be seen taking part in agility exercises before enjoying a bit of ball work while bouncing off mini trampolines.

The Belgian international has been recovering from his injury in Antwerp since suffering minor ligament damage against Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Lukaku’s injury update will delight United fans as they hope to have him back for their FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley on May 19.

United have struggled for goals in his absence, drawing a blank in their two most recent Premier League games against Brighton and West Ham, in which they won only one point.

Jose Mourinho’s side face Watford in their last league game at Old Trafford on Sunday before the encounter at Wembley.

Meanwhile, Lukaku was in a celebratory mood on social media as he also posted a throwback picture to mark his birthday.

Lukaku, who turns 25 on Sunday, posted a photo from his early innocent days, alongside the caption: ‘Dear God, thank you for another year in my life’.
