Arsenal attackers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were all smiles on Sunday as they enjoyed a late night celebrating the Gunners’ 5-0 win over Burnley.
Gabon striker Aubameyang scored twice, assisting another, during the emphatic home win which marked the final home game for Arsene Wenger before he departs the club this summer.
Taking to Instagram late on Sunday, Aubameyang posted a photo with his ‘brother’ Mkhitaryan as the pair cut relaxed figures away from the pitch.
The pressure was on Arsenal’s players to provide Wenger with a fitting send off following their disappointing Europa League semi-final exit at the hands of Atletico Madrid on Thursday.
But Aubameyang, who played no part at the Wanda Metropolitano due to being ineligible, got the party started after 14 minutes with a neat finish.
Burnley, who secured European football after Everton’s failure to beat Southampton on Saturday evening, offered little resistance to rewrite the Emirates script as they went on to be hit for five.
Alexandre Lacazette, Sead Kolasinac and Alex Iwobi added to Aubameyang’s brace on the day.
Trips to Leicester City and Huddersfield Town will round off Wenger’s 22-year spell in charge of Arsenal but few will forget the atmosphere, emotion and performance of his final game at the Emirates.
