Chelsea Welcome Michy Batshuayi Back From Borussia Dortmund Early As He Begins Recovery From Ankle Injury

Michy Batshuayi is back at Chelsea’s training ground after his season-long loan to Borussia Dortmund was cancelled because of ankle ligament damage.

The Belgian striker had left the Premier League club to play first-team football and scored nine goals in 14 games for the German side.

The 24-year-old was spotted at Cobham on Friday afternoon in Chelsea training kit and will continue his recovery with his parent club in London.

Batshuayi could be heading back to Dortmund in the summer when the Bundesliga club attempt to sign the forward, whose loan deal had no option to buy.

The youngster cost Chelsea £32million following his move from Marseille but disappointed as he scored only seven times in 32 Premier League appearances.

He is now in a race against time to prove his fitness ahead of Belgium’s World Cup campaign, where they will face England in the group phase.
