Antonio Conte may be focusing on the present but he fears Manchester City will dominate domestic and European football for the foreseeable future.

The Italian is preparing his Chelsea side for a trip to Burnley on Thursday as they try to scrap for an unlikely place in the Premier League’s top four.

Conte oversaw training at the club’s Cobham training base on Wednesday as the likes of Eden Hazard, Willian and Marcos Alonso all took part.

The Chelsea manager won the title in his first season in charge, but the Blues have been comprehensively dethroned by Pep Guardiola’s side.

And Conte believes City could be on the cusp of total domination.

‘They have dominated this season and it is right to give them compliment to win this league because don’t forget this league is not simple.

‘Very tough to win but the way they did this was incredible and for this reason it is right to give them the best, our compliments.

‘They were very good to prepare this season in the right way to improve the team, the squad and then to continue to improve their idea of football of the coach.

Manchester City is one club that can continue to dominate to win not only in England but also to fight for Champions League.

‘Manchester City has the possibility to do this in this moment and there is a club that is very strong they have an important squad with great quality and players and then they have a club that wants to invest, to improve the situation. There are a lot of things right in the right place.’
