Arsenal Jet Off To Russia For Europa League Second Leg With CSKA Moscow As Gunners Aim To Reach Semi-Finals

Monreal accompanied Hector Bellerin on the flight, with Alex Iwobi sat behind them

Arsenal are on their way to Russia as they prepare to take on CSKA Moscow on Thursday night and progress to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League.

Arsenal star Nacho Monreal posted a selfie with Hector Bellerin and Alex Iwobi as the Gunners flew out to Russia for the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final with CSKA.

Iwobi appeared to be impressed with the fact he photobombed Monreal’s selfie.

The Gunners, who lead 4-1 from last week’s first leg at the Emirates Stadium, are overwhelming favourites to complete the job at the VEB Arena.

Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette both scored twice – all before half-time – in the first leg last Thursday, with Aleksandr Golovin’s free-kick response for the Russian side proving a mere consolation.

The Gunners trained at their London Colney base before making the four-hour flight to Moscow on Wednesday afternoon.

Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang trained with them despite being cup-tied for their Europa League fixtures.

One player who did not train was Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who is expected to miss the remainder of the season but could be fit if Arsenal made the Europa League final in Lyon on May 16.
