Oprah Winfrey has sent some personal words of advice to Lionel Messi ahead of the World Cup this summer.
US talk-show host Winfrey is one of the biggest stars on the planet after building a huge global media empire.
And she took time out from promoting her latest movie to pass on her support to Barcelona star Messi ahead of Russia 2018.
Messi, 30, carries the hopes of Argentina on his shoulders as he finally looks to make his mark on a World Cup finals this summer.
And Oprah has told the forward to summon up the strength from within as he looks to lead his nation to glory.
She said: “Messi, you already know this. You go deep.
“You go deep, and you find the strength inside yourself.
“Messi, be a warrior.”
Oprah, 64, was taking part in an interview with Argentine TV host Barbie Simons to promoted the release of her new film A Wrinkle in Time.
She was joined by co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling as she delivered her address to Messi.
And Witherspoon, who won an Oscar for her role in Johnny Cash film Walk The Line, then revealed the Barca star is a firm favourite in her family.
She said: “Lionel Messi is my son’s favourite player. He has all the jerseys and everything.”
Messi is currently on international duty with Argentina as they prepare for the World Cup with two friendly matches over the coming week.
They take on Italy on Friday in a match being staged at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium, before travelling to the Continent to take on Spain on Tuesday.
