Juventus are stepping up their interest in Anthony Martial, according to reports in Italy.
The Frenchman, 22, has been in-and-out of the Manchester team under Jose Mourinho these past few games — and started the dismal defeat to Sevilla on the bench.
Rumours of Juventus’ interest began to surface when club director Pavel Nedved was spotted at a London hotel with the striker’s agent ahead of the Bianconeri’s clash with Tottenham at Wembley.
Initially, the encounter appeared to have been by chance, but Premium Sport reports the interest is real.
Nedved was seen with Nelio Lucas, a representative of Doyen Sports, whose client list includes Martial.
Last summer, there were question marks over the Frenchman’s future as Mourinho publicly pursued Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
However, Martial, 22, has shown his quality in glimpses this season but has been in-and-out of the side in recent weeks as the United boss continues to reshuffle his frontline.
Should Juventus be interested in signing the former Monaco ace, it is highly unlikely they would be able to afford him without selling yet another of their major stars.
The arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January has increased competition for places at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard are among the other stars vying for a spot behind Romelu Lukaku.
