Sergio Aguero has been pictured visiting Hale restaurant Victor’s hours after being ruled out of Manchester City’s trip to Stoke on Monday night.

Aguero suffered a knee injury in training over the weekend and will be assessed further on Tuesday.

The City striker was photographed leaving his Range Rover before heading to the popular eatery.

Aguero is expected to join his City team-mates for a warm-weather training camp in Abu Dhabi ahead of the international break.

Pep Guardiola’s side will move 16 points clear of Manchester United, who sit second, if they beat Stoke.

News of Aguero’s injury comes after Guardiola confirmed midfielder David Silva would miss the trip to Dubai to spend more time with his new-born son.

The 29-year-old's knee injury will be further assessed by City's medical staff on Tuesday

Aguero has scored 30 goals in 37 appearances for City in all competitions this season

Since the birth of his son, Silva, who is available for the Stoke game, has been sporadically in and out of the City team owing to his travels to and from Valencia to be with his family.

While Silva returns to visit his family, Guardiola has stressed the importance of training and has explained how the midfielder works around his difficult situation.

‘He’s just strong. We’ve said many times family is the most important thing,’ Guardiola said.

‘He wants to be here but sometimes he needs to go back and see his son – he’s doing well – and his wife. But of course, he knows he has to train.

‘At the beginning it was okay but it’s a long time without training – you cannot play good.

‘He trains alone in Valencia when he goes there. For the game against Basle he decided to go to Valencia but he came back on Thursday to train.’
